Job description: Operations Manager – JhbFull job descriptionWe are seeking to appoint a committed, suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Operations Manager for our Johannesburg Based Textile FactoryThe successful candidate has to be based in Johannesburg and have extensive experience in the fashion and garment manufacturing sector.The Operations Manager will report to and operate under CEO.Applicants must reside in Johannesburg and have their own car.Duties & Responsibilities:An operations manager is responsible for running the daily operations of a company or an organisation. They manage staff, control costs, and maintain high quality and productivity standards to ensure everything runs smoothly. Operations managers work in various industries, and their task is to increase efficiency, reduce expenses, and achieve financial and operational goals.Monitoring Production or Manufacturing Process: Operations managers supervise and direct the organisation’s operational procedures to ensure they function smoothly and effectivelyBudget Management: Operations managers oversee the organisation’s operational budgets to ensure that the resources are utilised efficientlyManaging the workforce: Operations managers are accountable for managing and supervising the work of their team, which includes allocating assignments, establishing due dates, and keeping track of performanceManaging strategic partnerships: Looking after supplier, vendor and client associations to ensure that we are fulfilling the needs and demands of the organisationRisk Assessment and Management: To recognise potential risks and implement preventive measures to reduce themClient acquisition & retentionMonitoring the stock quality and escalating discrepancies to buyers and management.Running and analysing reports on a regular basis.Communicating and coordinating with the Operations team and Buyers.Reporting and or recommending and advising on trends and new market opportunities, competitor information, new products, promotional trends, and advertising.To have a good Product knowledge and garment construction knowledgeOptimising the presentation of line selections per promotion and monitor and report on its effectiveness.Desired Experience & QualificationGrade 12 (Twelve).Design or Clothing Construction related, Diploma or DegreeAt least 3 (Three) years of experience in an Operations Manager role in the Manufacturing IndustryProficiency in using MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook, SAP, Odoo, CRM or equivalentValid drivers licence and own reliable vehicle.Creative mindset.Good understanding of the target market and products.Commercial awareness.Ability to make decisions.Analytical skills.Manage the Operations Department staff.Math skills.Interpersonal skills.Ability to multi-task to work well in a team.Good organisational skills.Drive and determination.Good communication skills, both verbal and written.Ablity to cope under pressure and adapt to changing situations.Capabilty to work in a fast-paced environment.Self-starter and ability to work with minimum supervision.Hands-on, team player, who is passionate, confident, and disciplined.If you do not have the listed qualifications and experience, please do not apply as you will unfortunately not be considered for this position.We aim to reply to all applicants, however, due to the high volume of interest in our vacancies it is not always possible to do so.
