Job description: Job Summary Area/Location: Diep River, Cape TownJob Overview:A qualified, experienced, highly skilled, and competent individual is sought to serve as Chief Financial Officer for a company in the Apparel or Textile Manufacturing Industry. This role is responsible for ensuring financial performance and statutory compliance to minimize business risks and maximize profitability. The position oversees financial reporting, financial planning, and governance to maintain excellence in financial operations.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a financial and operational strategy with metrics aligned to organizational goals.
- Oversee the development and monitoring of control systems to preserve company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure the integrity of the General Ledger for reporting purposes, including control, maintenance, and management.
- Manage the integrity of monthly group management accounts, balance sheets, cash flows, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure all International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) monthly reporting requirements are met with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Implement and maintain a robust group monthly reporting process.
- Partner with executive management to manage key aspects of financial reporting.
- Provide monthly financial reviews and lead budget and forecast meetings.
- Maintain appropriate accounting policies, processes, and internal control systems.
- Prepare and/or review financial submissions for Audit Committees and Board meetings, including budgets and interim/year-end reports.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS in financial statements for interim and annual reports.
- Serve as the primary contact for interim and year-end external audits and annual report preparation
- Accurately report on all imports and foreign exchange transactions.
- Manage accounting for acquisitions and disposals.
- Serve as a key advisor and signatory for loan and facility legal agreements.
- Maintain and oversee Group Companies’ Limits of Authority.
- Provide input for Integrated Reporting processes.
- Establish succession plans for senior management roles within the Finance team.
- Oversee the training and development of personnel involved in financial, accounting, audit, and fiscal matters.
- Lead and manage the Finance team to ensure high-quality outputs and team development.
- Offer guidance and development opportunities to direct reports.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- CA (SA) qualification.
- 10-15 years of proven hands-on financial management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in providing strategic financial guidance, monitoring budgets, and delivering financial reports to stakeholders.
- Relevant experience as a Head of Finance in the Apparel or Textile Manufacturing environment is advantageous.
