Job Title: Operations Manager

Purpose of the Role:
Isisekelo Recruitment is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager responsible for overseeing and managing all operational aspects of our company. The primary goal is to maintain high-quality standards, ensure on-time delivery, and achieve organizational targets by motivating and managing our staff effectively.
Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Overseeing the CMS Operation:
- Client Relationship Management: Maintain and manage the relationship with the client, ensuring profitability and productivity.
- Billing Process Completion: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the full billing process, including planning, implementing, and monitoring annual budgets. Schedule expenditures, analyze and report on variances, and take corrective actions to address any discrepancies.
- Financial and Administrative Management: Oversee financial and administrative requirements, ensuring compliant and effective operations.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor SOPs as well as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Targets and Scope: Ensure operations meet targets as per the customer’s scope of work.
- SHEQ and ISO Standards: Ensure adherence to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) and ISO standards, integrating 5S and Gemba principles as high priorities.
- BBBEE Compliance: Strive to meet Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) objectives, including procurement and recruitment.
- Maintenance Oversight: Manage workshop operations, in-plant areas, equipment, and storage yard maintenance.
2. Promoting Customer Relations:
- Customer Relationship Maintenance: Foster good relationships with both internal and external customers and handle customer complaints effectively.
- Debtors Aging Management: Ensure that Debtors Aging remains current and manage escalations if necessary.
- Interdepartmental Cooperation: Promote cooperation and synergy across departments to optimize operations.
- Quality Review: Review and ensure quality as per SOP standards.
- Customer Satisfaction Guidelines: Develop, implement, and monitor guidelines to sustain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Support Contracts Manager: Collaborate with the Contracts Manager to expand operational and technical portfolios, identify new business opportunities, and leverage existing ones.
3. Efficient Management of Productive Staff:
- Workload Planning: Allocate daily tasks and adjust workloads for team members to ensure productivity.
- Team Support: Provide advice, coordination, and support to team members for efficient operations.
- Adherence to SOPs: Ensure that all operations staff strictly follow SOPs and safety protocols.
- Staff Training: Ensure that all staff are adequately trained concerning their duties and legal requirements.
- Performance Management: Utilize the performance management system to appraise all staff and monitor their performance continually.
Education & Experience:
- Qualifications: Matric/Grade 12 is mandatory.
- Professional Experience: Preferably experience in Operations, Production, Project, or General Management.
- Work Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills at all levels, with internal and external customers.
- Project Management: Proven record of planning and executing projects effectively.
- Resource Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and utilize resources effectively, specifically overseeing 50+ employees in a unionized environment.
- Computer Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of computer applications, especially the full MS Office Suite.
- Location: Must reside in East London, Eastern Cape.
