Job Summary
As an IT Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client’s technological infrastructure. With over four years of IT support experience, you will be responsible for managing cybersecurity strategies, DNS records, IT policies, and compliance with industry standards such as ISO27001 and POPIA/GDPR. This position involves first-line support, troubleshooting, and desktop support for Windows and MacOS systems, as well as fulfilling the responsibilities of an Information Security Officer. IT certifications are essential for this role, and a Google Workspace certification is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
As an integral member of the team, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and maintaining the suite of SaaS applications and integrations.
- Overseeing the email and productivity suite, specifically Google Workspace (G Suite).
- Providing first-line support for cloud production environments.
- Ensuring a robust cybersecurity posture by implementing necessary improvements.
- Managing DNS records, including MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configurations.
- Conducting troubleshooting sessions to resolve system and network issues.
- Keeping configuration documentation detailed and up-to-date.
- Performing duties associated with the role of Information Security Officer.
- Maintaining comprehensive IT policies and procedures within the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
- Delivering security expertise and consultation when required.
- Ensuring that the IT environment adheres to industry regulations such as ISO27001, POPIA, and GDPR.
- Aiding in the implementation of strategic changes to enhance processes, procedures, and compliance.
- Assisting team members in planning and adopting new tools and services.
- Handling SFTP server setups and related issues.
- Facilitating general IT administration, including desktop support for Windows and MacOS platforms.
- Installing new hardware and software components.
- Managing and maintaining access to the Head Office.
Special Requirements
To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:
- Relevant IT certifications demonstrating expertise in the field.
- A minimum of four years’ experience in IT support.
- A Google Workspace (G Suite) Certification is advantageous but not required.
- A valid driver’s license with a willingness to travel as needed.
- Personal reliable transportation.
- A willingness to be on standby and provide assistance for ad-hoc responsibilities.
