Job Description:
This multifaceted role marries the technical and operational responsibilities of a Field Service Technician with those of an On-Site Resource. Expect a blend of on-the-go callouts for client installations and configurations, while the primary focus will be on managing and supporting AV equipment within client premises. You will be the trusted go-to resource for ensuring technical readiness and operational excellence in various meeting and event spaces.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily AV Equipment Checks:
- Conduct morning equipment checks in booked meeting rooms, guaranteeing systems are ready for use prior to the day’s engagements.
- Perform proactive assessments during system downtime to ensure seamless preparations for live meetings or events.

Meeting & Event Support:
- Facilitate equipment setup, testing, and provide standby support for a range of setup scenarios, including auditorium events, training sessions, and war room planning.
- Oversee AV systems to support video conferencing, broadcasting, and other technological functionalities, ensuring thorough shutdown post-use.

End-User Training:
- Deliver hands-on training to clients on AV technologies, video conferencing tools, and control systems such as Crestron and Extron.

Incident Reporting & Troubleshooting:
- Address AV and network complaints with prompt service across various client-centric environments.
- Perform onsite technical root cause analysis, ensuring documented resolutions or appropriate escalation.

Preventative Maintenance & Equipment Care:
- Regular preventative measures on systems and spaces, keeping a keen eye on equipment functionality and condition.
- Maintain pristine equipment standards by performing routine maintenance like cleaning projector lenses and changing filters.

Installation, Configuration & Upgrades:
- Engage directly with new setups, installations, and upgrades both onsite and through remote consultations.
- Conduct comprehensive site surveys to facilitate informed installation and enhancement decisions.

Advanced Fault-Finding & Technical Resolution:
- Resolve complex technical AV issues, maintaining strict adherence to service level agreements and response time commitments.
- Contribute to the ongoing programming and configuration of industry-standard control systems.

Inventory Management & Reporting:
- Oversee inventory needs, ensuring critical parts and tools are in robust supply for service and installation requirements.
- Maintain detailed service logs for precise historical record-keeping and accountability.

Collaboration & Cross-Training:
- Collaborate with team members and departments, advocating for process improvements and edification across technical spectra.
- Embrace cross-training opportunities to diversify skillsets and enhance service delivery across technical areas.

Client Interaction & SLA Adherence:
- Operate seamlessly as the bridge between clients and internal teams, ensuring expeditious communication and problem-solving.
- Conduct regular quality assurance initiatives to ensure alignment with both client expectations and company standards.

- Provide remote or on-site solutions as situations dictate, with an openness to overtime, travel, and stand-by rotations.
- Support the scheduling and coordination of service dispatching and installations during non-field service slots.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:
- Essential: Matric/Senior Certificate
- Preferred: Technical Certification/Diploma in electronics, IT, or a related field

Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience focusing on AV/VC systems—installation, troubleshooting, and field service are central to this role.
- Proven expertise in Audio-Visual systems and technologies, encompassing essential installation best practices.

Technical Skills:
- Unwavering proficiency in Crestron systems; experience with Extron and video conferencing systems is vital.
- Advanced competence in leading Audio-Visual technology and installation methodologies with autonomous operational capability.
- Additional Requirements:
- Excellent proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills paired with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to traverse to client sites with personal vehicle access are necessitated.
Salary Expectation: R240,000 – R300,000 per annum
