- Grade 12
- Purchasing/ Buyer Diploma or higher
- 3 Year experience as a buyer in a FMCG or pharmaceutical company
- Computer Literate: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Oracle will be an advantage.
Duties:
- Responsible for material/finished goods
- Sourcing material/finished goods at competitive pricing.
- Review material requirement reports weekly and replenishment orders as required.
- Ensure orders are placed on time, taking into considerations the long lead times.
- Ensure safety stocks levels are achieved especially on critical products.
- Ensure that we comply to the company policy by obtaining Order confirmations/ invoices on time.
- Expedite and follow up deliveries daily.
- Generate weekly reports to monitor low stocks/backorders, showing actions to be taken to rectify stock levels.
- Manage orders placed to ensure out of stock and overstocks are prevented by deferring or cancelling orders.
- Work with planners to re-schedule as necessary
- Source Vendors and review vendor performance;
