Job description: The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render a secretarial support service to Senior Management.
Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) plus an accredited secretarial diploma and/or administrative qualification on the level of NQF level 5 or relevant higher tertiary qualification (a certificate of completion should be provided); A minimum of 3 years experience in rendering secretarial/ administrative support services to management/ senior management.
RecommendationProven experience in working with systems, data and reporting across a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Performance AreasRender administrative support services; Provide a secretarial/ receptionist support service to the manager; Provide support to the manager regarding meetings;Support the manager with the administration of the manager’s budge; Study the relevant Public Service and departmental prescripts/ policies and other documents and ensure that the application thereof is understood properly.
CompetenciesKnowledge of the following: Relevant legislation/ policies/ prescripts and procedures; Basic financial administration; Record management systems; Procurement of goods and services; Relevant software packages (advanced); Skills needed: Computer Literacy (MS office); Strong communication (written and verbal); Run and maintain a record management system; Communicate effectively (written and verbally); Work under pressure; Make sound judgments; Do basic research; Analyse documents and situations.
RemunerationR 308 154 per annum (Salary level 7)Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.NotesShortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting.
