Job description: Our client, in the steel industry, is seeking a Branch Manager to be based in Richards Bay.Requirements:
- Matric
- Tertiary qualification (advantageous)
- Must have steel knowledge
- 5 + years experience
- Own vehicle
Duties:
- Responsible for the management of all staff
- Execute a sales strategy to optimise profits and attain pre-agreed targets by managing sales staff effectively
- Ensure excellent customer relations and exceptional customer service by maintaining, managing and monitoring all customer related issues.
- Overseeing that the warehouse.
- Working with senior managers to implement the company’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the health and safety guidelines are being followed.
- Responsible for controlling and maintaining optimum stock control and stock levels
- Ensure that all areas of work performance or departments are properly staffed and directed.
- Provide training, coaching, development and motivation to bring out the best in each department
- Provide guidance, counselling and consultation in order to guarantee customer satisfaction
- Reporting on daily sales
- Take on the responsibility for the orientation of all new employees
- Take on responsibility for evaluation of all employees
- Recommend desirable changes in the policies and goals of the branch and the organisation
- Assist the Managing Director in developing branch and organisational objectives, and in formulating policies
- Making sure that the company complies with laws and regulations of the industry
- Ensure co-ordination between sales, accounts and administrative department.
- Meeting with customers to solve issues or complaints and monitoring their feedback
- Analysing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximise profits
- Cooperate fully with the Credit Department in extending and enforcing credit policy
- Manage the branch honestly, follow high ethical standards, and comply with government regulations
- Ensure safe keeping of company assets, including structures, equipment, inventory and cash.
- Select, promote and discharge employees with in the branch in accordance with basic personnel policy
- Evaluate regularly that of the branch operation, to see that policies are being observed and that goals are being attained
- Maintain proficiency in computerised systems and other technologies as required.
- Increase personal knowledge and expertise in business, appropriate technology, etc.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are being followed by all staff
- Daily report on random stock check counts
- Overseeing the stock take procedure and making sure all relevant documentation is printed and prepared.
- Report on stock loss/gain per item per group and overall
