Job Title: Yard Foreman / Materials Controller

Job description: Qualifications and Experience Needed
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Extensive knowledge of material handling, inventory management, and safety protocols
- Understanding of the logistics and operational demands of large-scale mining projects
- Proficient in computer usage
- Fluency in English and/or Afrikaans
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
- Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage yard activities, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and equipment
- Ensure proper handling and organization of construction materials, tools, and machinery
- Maintain inventory control, track stock levels, and report on material requirements
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all yard activities
- Maintain yard cleanliness and organization to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with loading and unloading activities in the laydown area
- Liaise with project managers, procurement, and other departments to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials
- Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure the readiness of yard machinery
- Troubleshoot and resolve logistics, inventory, and equipment-related issues promptly
- Provide regular reports on yard operations, safety performance, and material status
