Job description: Our client in the Exports and Imports industry is currently looking for a Site Manager, in Rustenburg, Northwest.Responsibilities:
- Safety Management:
- Prioritize and enforce all safety procedures and protocols at the mine site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and incident investigations.
- Train and educate employees on safety procedures and emergency response.
- Monitor safety performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Production Planning and Operations:
- Develop and execute detailed mining plans based on the mine plan and production targets.
- Monitor and optimize mining operations to achieve production goals.
- Manage the allocation and utilization of mining equipment and personnel.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of mining equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant environmental regulations and permits.
- Monitor and report on environmental impacts of mining operations.
- Stay updated on changes in mining laws and regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities regarding inspections and compliance matters.
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and motivate a team of mining personnel including supervisors, operators, and maintenance crew.
- Recruit, train, and develop mining staff to maintain competency levels.
- Manage employee performance, address concerns, and provide necessary support.
- Cost Control and Budget Management:
- Develop and manage operational budgets for the mine site.
- Monitor expenditure on mining activities and identify areas for cost optimization.
- Analyse production costs and take corrective actions to maintain profitability.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate regular reports on production performance, safety metrics, and operational KPIs.
- Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Communicate findings to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field
- Extensive experience in underground or surface mining operations
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Thorough understanding of mining safety regulations and procedures
- Proficiency in mine planning and production optimization techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in challenging situations
Remuneration:
- R300 000 – R370 0000 per annum.
Expected salary: R300000 per year
