Job description: Job Summary Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking to hire a CFO to join their team. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for leading the financial strategy, risk management, and overall financial health of the company. This role requires strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership to ensure financial stability, profitability, and compliance with industry regulations. The CFO will work closely with the executive team to drive business growth, optimize financial performance, and support long-term strategic goals.Key Responsibilities:Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and sustainability.
- Provide financial leadership and insights to the executive team and board of directors.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and cost management.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data to drive strategic decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including credit, liquidity, and operational risks.
- Oversee internal controls, audits, and financial governance policies.
Cash Flow & Capital Management
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure financial stability.
- Oversee funding strategies, investments, and capital expenditure planning.
- Manage relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
Operational & Business Support
- Provide financial oversight for large-scale projects in mining, construction, and civil engineering.
- Support contract negotiations, joint ventures, and mergers & acquisitions.
- Ensure alignment between financial goals and operational strategies.
Requirements:
- Education: CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent financial qualification.
- Experience: 10+ years in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within Mining, Construction, or Civil Engineering industries.
- Strong knowledge of project finance, cost control, tax compliance, and risk management.
- Experience managing multi-million-rand budgets and complex financial structures.
- Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and performance management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software.
