Job description: ElectricianArea; DurbanSalary; R20 000 – R25 000 neg depending on experienceBrief description of the vacancy:Our client is looking for an experienced & qualified electrician with dosing, chlorination, and pumping solutions experience in a Water & Wastewater Plant environment.· Will be always working with an assistant· Tools and Equipment supplied· Company Vehicle and Cell phone suppliedExperience required:· 5 + Years post trade test experience a must· Experience in a Water / Wastewater Plant environment· Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills· Solution driven person· Administrative Experience Job Cards, Risk Assessments, Health and Safety ChecksQualifications required:· Trade test· Beyond trade test courses (N-courses)· Health and Safety courses would be beneficialSkills required:· Technical Knowledge – Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and industrial equipment.· Problem-solving: – Ability to diagnose and fix complex electrical issues.· Attention to Detail – Precision in following codes, standards, and technical drawings.· Physical Fitness – Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.· Communication – Good verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork and documentation.· Safety Awareness – In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.Responsibilities· Installation and Maintenance:o Install electrical systems, components, and equipment, including wiring, circuits, and fixtures.o Regularly inspect and maintain electrical systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and safely.o Perform preventive maintenance to reduce the likelihood of equipment failure.· Troubleshooting and Repairs:o Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in industrial machinery and systems.o Repair or replace faulty wiring, components, or equipment.o Respond to emergency breakdowns and resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime.· Compliance and Safety:o Ensure all electrical installations and repairs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards.o Follow strict safety protocols to protect oneself and others from electrical hazards.o Conduct safety inspections and implement measures to prevent electrical accidents.· Reading Blueprints and Schematics:o Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.o Plan and layout the installation of electrical systems based on these documents.· Working with Automation and Control Systems:o Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated systems, such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other control systems.o Program and configure VSDs & Soft Starters to optimize industrial processes.· Collaboration and Communication:o Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and management to ensure smooth operations.o Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff or apprentices.o Document all work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair records.Find and follow us on facebook and all social media platforms search Scholtz Partners Internationalwww.sp-int.co.za
