Job Title: Field Service Technician / Diesel Mechanic – UNDERGROUND

Job description: Client in Steelpoort is looking for a field service technician with experience on Deutz engins. NEED TO HAVE UNDERGROUND EXPERIENCE
- Provide a safe and efficient mechanical service to Vertical Transport team through effective maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery assigned thereby ensuring optimum availability and minimum breakdowns.
- Carry out and overseer pre use inspections to ensure safe operation of equipment and compliance to COP and procedures.
- The incumbent is responsible to comply with the necessary general standard and procedural administration regarding completed tasks.
- Ensure good housekeeping and environmental practices.
- The jobholder is responsible for his/her own safety as well as for others according to the Occupational Mine Health and Safety Act.
- Effective communication with Supervisor and Subordinates to be established and maintained.
- Proper planning to control spares and fuel by utilize ordering system and ensure availability.
Key Outputs
- Carry our repairs, services and maintenance on customer sites.
- Remove and install components on customer sites.
- Ensure safe work practice.
- Maintain professional image when representing company on customer site.
- Quickly and efficiently deal with all customer machine breakdowns.
- Compile accurate customer machine analysis and reports including machine inspection reports
- Effective self-management and performance ownership.
- Willing to work afterhours when necessary.
- Trade Test -26D
- Proof for Apprenticeship (3 Phases signed Off)
- Matric Certificate
- Hydraulic Experience
- 5 years plus working experience in similar environment
- Experience on Deutz Engines.
- Advantageous:
- Previous experience of TMM equipment e.g. Scoops, Dum Trucks, UV and Drill rigs
- Previous mining related experience
- Basic General Standard & Procedural Knowledge
- Basic experience of Hydraulics and Auto Electrical fault finding
- Experience in Operating TMM and Earth Moving Equipment
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language, as well as Afrikaans.
Expected salary: R20000 – 35000 per month
