Job description: Job Summary Hire Resolve is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Relationship Consultant to join our client’s dynamic team in KwaZulu-Natal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for growing the SMME Division, building strong client relationships, and promoting Trade, Commercial, Vehicle, and Asset finance solutions. - Grow the Bank’s Advances book by sourcing new clients and servicing existing clients with additional financing/services.
- Identify potential clients through networking, referrals, and market research.
- Request financial and supporting documents from clients for finance transactions.
- Conduct financial analysis and risk assessment on client applications.
- Review or prepare the credit report and amend where necessary before sign-off.
- Submit applications to the CODA department for scanning and forwarding to the Executive Credit Committee for approval.
- Address queries from the Executive Credit Committee regarding finance deals.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies in all transactions.
- Instruct relevant departments to prepare approval letters.
- Receive acceptance of approval letters from clients and facilitate the preparation of legal documents.
- Visit clients to arrange the signing of documents, address queries, and explain processes.
- Conduct bi-annual visits to existing clients along with regular telephonic contact.
- Ensure timely completion of Trade and Asset reviews.
- Regularly update pipeline deals in progress.
Credit Administration
- Ensure all credit requirements are met promptly to maintain customer service excellence.
- Verify that all financial documentation provided by clients is accurate and complete.
- Sign off correspondence to third parties, including landlords and accountants.
- Ensure relevant Shariah documents are signed off.
- Monitor and track client repayments to prevent potential defaults.
Arrear Management
- Liaise with the Arrears Officer to identify clients in arrears.
- Contact clients to arrange payment solutions and negotiate repayment plans.
- Monitor the arrears report weekly to track client repayments.
- Maintain arrears below 1% of the gross advances.
- Work closely with legal and collections teams on delinquent accounts.
Sales and Marketing
- Grow the Bank’s Advances book by acquiring new clients and providing additional financing/services to existing clients.
- Develop sales strategies to target key sectors and industries.
- Attend industry events and networking sessions to promote the Bank’s services.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients.
- Stay updated on market trends and competitor offerings.
Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative relationships with clients.
- Provide efficient and effective client service to promote the Bank’s offerings.
- Handle difficult client queries in person or during client visits, ensuring concerns are addressed professionally and solutions benefit both the Bank and the client.
- Maintain a high level of client satisfaction and retention.
- Ensure all client interactions are recorded in the CRM system.
Requirements:
- A BCom degree or relevant Business Management qualification is required for optimal competency in this role.
- Additional certifications in Sales, Credit Risk, or Financial Analysis will be an advantage.
- A postgraduate qualification in Finance, Banking, or Business Administration would be beneficial.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial services institution in a Sales position.
- Strong experience in SMME banking, commercial lending, or asset finance.
- Experience in credit risk assessment and financial statement analysis.
- General banking experience would be advantageous.
- Proven track record in business development and achieving sales targets.
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

- Shariah-compliant financial products (preferred but not mandatory)
- Regulatory and compliance requirements in banking
