- National Senior Certificate
- Typing skills: High typing speed and accuracy are essential for efficiently transcribing audio recordings
- Dictaphone experience: Prior experience transcribing audio recordings from Dictaphones is key
- Experience in working with labour and employment cases
Responsibilities:
- Transcribing audio recordings from lawyers’ dictations into written legal documents
- Acting as the primary document transcriber for the legal team
- Thoroughly reviewing transcribed documents for errors in spelling, grammar, and accuracy before finalizing
- Formatting and preparing legal documents based on transcribed dictation, including letters, contracts, briefs, and court filings
- Maintaining organized electronic and physical legal files, including proper indexing and retrieval of documents
- Scheduling appointments, meetings, and court appearances for lawyers, managing conflicts and reminders
- Answering phone calls, responding to emails, and handling basic client inquiries
- Performing general office duties like copying, scanning, faxing, and mailing documents
