Job description: Job Summary Law Clinic Director/Senior Legal Practitioner (JB4908) Randburg, Johannesburg Salary: R1.25 million CTC per annum, including performance bonus, provident fund, group risk benefits, and study assistance Permanent Position If you are an experienced attorney passionate about social impact and legal excellence, this is your opportunity to lead a transformative Community Law Clinic. Minimum Requirements: LLB (LLM advantageous). Admitted attorney with 10+ years post-admission experience, including High Court litigation and civil law. Accredited by the SA LPC to act as a training supervisor. Proven management experience, including supervision of candidate attorneys. Passion for pro-bono work and engagement with underserved communities. Proficiency in multiple languages (advantageous). Responsibilities: Legal and Case Management Lead High Court and regional legal matters, offering expert guidance and oversight. Draft complex legal documents, negotiate agreements, and manage high-stakes litigation. Supervise candidate attorneys to ensure quality client service within means test criteria. Leadership and Operations Manage clinic operations, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and LPC compliance. Oversee strategic planning, facilities management, and process improvements. Collaborate with Campus Heads and report to the Dean. Community Engagement Build partnerships with township leaders, NGOs, and courts to advance access to justice. Lead outreach initiatives such as pro-bono.
Expected salary: R83333 – 104166 per year
