Job description: Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled 5G Network Optimization Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing the performance and efficiency of our 5G network, ensuring a seamless and high-quality user experience. 4G/5G Network Optimization Engineer responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the performance of a mobile network, specifically focusing on 4G and 5G technologies, by identifying bottlenecks, implementing configuration changes, and conducting field measurements to ensure optimal network coverage, throughput, and user experience across the network footprintStrong understanding of cellular network technologies, particularly 4G LTE and 5G protocols, including radio frequency (RF) principlesExpertise in network optimization tools and techniques, such as drive test analysis software and network performance monitoring platformsExperience with network planning and design conceptsProficient in troubleshooting network issues and identifying root causesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey technical information to stakeholdersFamiliarity with network management systems and scripting languages may be beneficialQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, or a related field (preferred).
- Must have experience with MultiVendor tools: ability to extract, parse and analyze PM Data from OSS NBIs or other interfaces.
- Must be able to analyze and interpret field test data for network enhancement (DT analysis, L3 signaling, etc.).
- Must be able to design and implement Layer management strategies to optimize load balance
- Knowledgeable in identifying KPI degradation and creating mitigation plans to normalize the trend.
- Have Analytical skills for performance data analysis and decision-making.
- Proficient in using OSS MultiVendor tools in collecting/gathering data files for KPI monitoring, Parameter Adjustment and Sites Status Checking
- Performance Analysis & KPI Monitoring
– Continuously monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Call Drop Rate (CDR), Blocked Calls, Throughput, and Latency.– Identify and resolve network performance degradation issues. * Drive Testing & Log Analysis– Conduct drive tests using tools like TEMS, Nemo, or XCAL.– Analyze logs to detect coverage holes, interference, or handover issues. * Parameter Tuning & Feature Optimization– Fine-tune network parameters (e.g., Power Control, Handover, Load Balancing).– Optimize features like MIMO, Carrier Aggregation, and Beamforming in 5G. * Coverage & Capacity Planning– Ensure adequate network coverage and signal quality by analyzing propagation models.– Plan for additional carriers, cells, or small cells where required. * Interference Analysis & Mitigation– Identify and mitigate external and internal interference sources.– Use spectrum analyzers and interference-hunting tools. * Handover & Mobility Optimization– Optimize intra-frequency and inter-frequency handover settings to reduce call drops.– Ensure smooth transitions between 4G and 5G networks. * Data Throughput & QoS Optimization– Improve user data rates through scheduling, resource allocation, and QoS prioritization.– Analyze TCP/IP performance and troubleshoot slow speeds. * Capacity Management & Load Balancing– Monitor and distribute traffic load across multiple carriers and bands.– Implement load balancing features like ANR (Automatic Neighbor Relation) and SON (Self-Optimizing Networks). * VoLTE & 5G VoNR Optimization– Optimize VoLTE call setup times, quality, and handovers.– Ensure proper integration and tuning of 5G Voice over New Radio (VoNR). * Troubleshooting & Network Benchmarking– Benchmark network performance against competitors.– Use AI/ML-based tools for automated anomaly detection and predictive analysisTower GroupRecruiter
