- Qualification:
- Specialized academic qualifications in Human Resource Management
- Practical experience in end-to-end recruitment, dealing with and advising on employee relations issues, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Experience in broader administration and bookkeeping advantageous.
- Competencies/Requirements:
- Fluent in written and spoken English; speaking African languages is advantageous.
- Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member.
- Attentional to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, problem solve and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Police clearance

- Recruitment and selection:
- Support job description development
- Coordinate recruitment planning, advertising, and short-listing, selection interviews and tests, applicant response handling, due diligence checks and contracting
- Support Cultural Manager with the induction of new staff members
- Coordinate probation processes and reviews working closely with line managers.
- People management
- Coordinate performance management reviews, working closely with line managers. Advise staff and managers on issues related to performance management, with the goal of building knowledge and capacity among staff.
- Provide support and advice on employee relations matters to management and staff in line with PEN policies and procedures.
- Support managers and staff with disciplinary and grievance procedures and facilitate disciplinary processes.
- Coordinate, attend and document meetings or discussions where important staff/management issues are discussed
- Keeps track of contract end dates, follows up with line managers and ensures that relevant processes and documents are in place
- Administer employee termination procedures including exit interviews and the staff hand-over process, and staff leaving are provided with the necessary and completed documents.
- Renumeration and benefits, including payroll
- Ensure timeous and accurate processing of payroll monthly
- Support salary benchmarking and remuneration exercises
- Administer leave management, offering support and advice to line managers and staff on leave policies and processes.
- Human resource administration
- In conjunction with manager, develop and implement the Human Resources workplan.
- Ensure effective and efficient administration of the HR processes.
- Prepare and ensure timeous and accurate submission of HR data reports, including the Employment Equity Act.
- Ensure the maintenance of an effective and compliant HR filing system, with proper files maintained for each staff member, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Conduct regular audits of the HR Filling System, ensuring that signed contracts, necessary documents and amendments are always on file.
- Supports payroll, donor and statutory audits by providing documentation from staff files as appropriate.
- HR and Policy Drive
- Develop and manage communication, implementation, monitoring and review of all human resource policies.
- Provide advice and guidance to line managers on relevant areas of the employee life cycle and staff-related issues.
- Other
- Support finance team with processing and administrative tasks, when needed.
