Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Advertise Vacancies: Promote job openings using diverse channels to attract top talent.
- Shortlist Candidates: Assess applications to ensure candidates match our standards.
- Support Interview Process: Facilitate and streamline interviews with potential candidates.
- Facilitate Induction Workshops: Ensure new employees are integrated smoothly through comprehensive onboarding sessions.
- Coordinate Training: Organize necessary training programs for employees.
- Handle New Employee Contracts: Draft, review, and manage contracts and appointments for new hires.
Employee Relations
- Assist with Grievances: Address employee concerns and manage disciplinary processes effectively.
- Performance Management: Support managers in conducting performance appraisals.
- HR Policy Advice: Provide informed guidance on HR policies and practices.
- Coach Managers: Enhance managerial capabilities through HR skills training.
- Manage Team Dynamics: Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.
- Handle CCMA Matters: Represent the company in dealing with the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Changes: Liaise with payroll to process employee salary adjustments.
- Handle UIF Claims: Manage Unemployment Insurance Fund claims efficiently.
- WCA Reports: Handle Workmen’s Compensation Act reports and proceedings.
- Salary Adjustment Letters: Draft and distribute letters for salary adjustments and staff promotions.
- Administer Leave: Monitor and manage employee leave records and absenteeism.
Documentation & Reporting
- HR Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, including job descriptions and contracts.
- Company Organogram: Update the organizational chart on a monthly basis.
- Exit Interviews: Conduct and report on trends from exit interviews.
- Follow-up on Leavers: Ensure all procedures for exiting employees are completed properly.
Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree: Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is essential.
- Certification: Holding a certification in HR such as SHRM-CP or PHR is beneficial.
Experience and Skills
- Generalist HR Role: Minimum of 5 years of experience covering recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
- HR Documentation Management: Proven experience in managing HR documents and handling sensitive employee matters.
- HR Practices & Labor Laws: Strong understanding of HR practices, policies, and labor regulations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills to foster a positive company culture.
- Task Management: Ability to juggle multiple tasks and remain efficient under pressure.
- HR Software Proficiency: Familiarity with HR software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
