Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned and proficient Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic team and report directly to the General Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in restaurant management within fine dining or prestigious restaurant brands and exhibit outstanding leadership and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant and bistro to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Work closely with the General Manager to implement strategic plans and achieve business goals.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
- Manage staff performance, training, and development to foster a cohesive and capable team.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage supplier relationships to ensure the restaurant is well-stocked.
- Analyze financial reports and identify areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
- Create and implement marketing and promotional strategies to attract and retain customers.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Tertiary Qualification: A relevant degree or diploma in hospitality management or a related field is desirable.
- Experience: At least 4 years of restaurant management experience in a fine dining full service restaurant or with recognized restaurant brands such as Spur or Ocean Basket.
- Background: Must come from reputable a la carte restaurants (NOT FAST FOOD OR QUICK SERVICE RESTAURANTS).
- Knowledge: Excellent food and wine knowledge with superior service skills.
- Skills: Exceptional client relations abilities with calmness under pressure.
- Track Record: Only candidates with a stable, verifiable employment history need apply.
- Work Environment: Flexibility to work shifts and weekends as required.
- Transportation: Own transport is preferred.
- Nationality: This position is open solely to South African Nationals / Citizens.
