- Coordinating and overseeing health and safety functions.
- Identifying hazards and assessing risks, implementing safety controls.
- Ensuring compliance with all workplace safety legislation.
- Conducting safety patrols, risk assessments, and ensuring SOPs are followed.
- Training staff and contractors on safety procedures and handling emergency situations.
- Organizing and leading safety meetings, including toolbox talks and monthly health & safety committee meetings.
- Managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, environmental and safety audits.
- Leading accident investigations, implementing corrective actions, and reporting IODs.
- Ensuring safe working conditions for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Qualifications
- Degree in Safety Management or Nebosh Diploma.
- Nebosh Certificate and HIRA (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment) training.
Skills
- Minimum Experience: 3-5 years in environmental and safety management, preferably in an automotive manufacturing or similar manufacturing environment.
- Safety and Environmental Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of OHS Act 85 of 1993, National Environmental Management Act, and local by-laws.
- ISO Standards Knowledge: ISO 14001 (2015) and ISO 45001 (2018) standards.
- Incident Investigation: Knowledge and experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
