Job Summary
Network Recruitment is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Risk & Safety Officer to join our esteemed team in the Western Cape. This position promises an engaging and dynamic work environment where your expertise in occupational health and safety will be fully utilized.

Qualifications and Experience
- NEBOSH / SAMTRAC / Diploma or Degree in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) field.
- Registered with the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (SAIOSH).
- Registered with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP).
- Emergency Medical Experience – registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) would be advantageous.
- Advanced First Aid Experience: Capable of providing immediate medical support.
- Advanced Firefighting Knowledge: Skilled in emergency response to fire hazards.
- OHS ACT Qualification: Comprehensive understanding and application of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Relevant Working Experience: At least 5 years of experience in an FMCG Environment/Factory Setup is strongly recommended.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in using computer systems to manage safety documentation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Maintaining Health and Safety Management Systems for All Sites: Ensuring that health and safety protocols are up-to-date and adhered to across our various locations.

Facilitating and Performing HSE Risk Assessments: Identifying, evaluating, and developing safe work procedures alongside department managers.

Accident/Incident Investigation: Reviewing and documenting all accidents, incidents, and near misses. Ensuring accurate reporting and implementing mitigating measures.

Organizing Safety Committee Meetings: Conducting regular meetings in compliance with OHSA requirements for all sites.

Participation in Safety Forums: Actively engaging in company-created safety forums such as safety meetings and talks.

Follow-Up on Safety Actions: Tracking completion of activities assigned through safety meetings, committees, representatives, or management.

Reporting Safety Incidents: Ensuring all incidents are promptly reported to the relevant personnel.

Educational Programs: Attending safety education and refresher programs to stay updated on best practices.

Complying with Safety Policies: Adhering to all safety policies and procedures established by Soill.

Distributing Safety Information: Sharing important safety information as needed to keep the team informed.
- Protective Clothing: Wearing protective clothing at all times where applicable.
