Job description: Our Benoni Telehealth department is currently looking for qualified medical officers with PHC and Comm Serve experience to provide confidential clinical advice to patients,review medical reports and treatment plans.Tasks:Initiate and analyse treatment plans.· Review medical reports and provide treatment plans.· Explain and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.· Monitor patient progress and response to treatments.· Diagnose and manage chronic disease patients (in accordance with the designated scheme rules and protocols).· Provide confidential clinical advice to patients.· Manage primary healthcare patients referred to by The Medical Society clinicians.· Refer patients to other providers (where appropriate)· Tele-consult with patients when outside of the nurses scopeEssential Experience:
- Community Service or post
- Primary Healthcare experience
Essential Qualifications:· Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree.· Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).· Official license to practice.Desirable Qualifications:· MSc or Diploma in Clinical Trials.· Diploma in Occupational Health.Knowledge and Skills:· Ability to function and operate with sound clinical and business acumen.· Leadership and management skills.· Effective communication at all levels throughout the businessAttributes:· Team player· Compassionate· Excellent attention to detail· Able to work independently.· Self-motivated· Ability to work under pressure.· Good time management skills· Honest, hardworking, and humble
Expected salary: R433 – 490 per hour
