Staff Management & Training:
- Recruiting, Training, and Supervising Staff: Responsible for the recruitment and comprehensive training of new staff members to ensure they adhere to the restaurant’s service and quality standards.
- Creating Staffing Rotas: Develop and manage rotas to ensure that the restaurant is adequately staffed during peak and off-peak hours.
Financial & Budget Management:
- Agreeing and Managing Budgets: Collaborate with the restaurant management team to agree on budgets and oversee their implementation.
- Keeping Statistical and Financial Records: Maintain records to track the financial health of the restaurant, producing regular reports on sales, staffing, and expenditures.
- Assessing and Improving Profitability: Employ strategies to enhance the restaurant’s profitability without compromising on service quality.
Quality Control & Legislation Compliance:
- Ensuring Compliance with Licensing, Hygiene, and Health and Safety Legislation: Ensure all activities follow relevant legislation and due diligence is maintained.
Customer Relations & Service Excellence:
- Handling Customer Enquiries and Complaints: Address and resolve any customer issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
- Greeting and Advising Customers: Actively engage with customers, establishing a warm and inviting atmosphere.
- Taking Reservations: Manage reservations systems to optimize seating plans and customer experience.
Operational Management:
- Planning Menus: Assist in menu planning to ensure it meets customer preferences and seasonal product availability.
- Overseeing Stock Levels and Ordering Supplies: Monitor inventory levels and liaise with suppliers to maintain stock.
- Promoting and Marketing the Business: Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase visibility and attract customers.
- Preparing and Presenting Staffing/Sales Reports: Generate reports to help in the analysis and strategic planning of restaurant operations.
- Liaising with Customers, Employees, Suppliers, Licensing Authorities, and Sales Representatives: Maintain productive relationships with all stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Making Improvements to the Running of the Business and Developing the Restaurant: Innovate and implement new ideas that can potentially improve the restaurant’s function and appeal.
Special Skills:
- Wine Knowledge: A deep understanding of wine is essential; you should be capable of guiding customers and staff with wine selections and pairings.
