They are partners with businesses across various industries to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for employees.Their team consists of skilled healthcare professionals who deliver tailored solutions that align with company-specific occupational health needs, ensuring compliance with South African workplace health and safety legislation.Job SummaryThe Enrolled Nurse (EN) Occupational Health will play a vital role in supporting the Occupational Health team by assisting with medical surveillance programs, conducting health screenings, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards. The ideal candidate should have experience in occupational health nursing or a keen interest in workplace healthcare.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (OHNP) in conducting medical surveillance, health risk assessments, and workplace health programs.Perform pre-employment, periodic, and exit medical examinations under the supervision of the OHNP.Administer basic screening tests (e.g., vision tests, lung function tests, hearing tests, blood pressure monitoring, urine tests).Provide first aid and emergency care for workplace injuries or illnesses.Maintain accurate patient records and medical files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act requirements.Educate employees on workplace health hazards, infection control, and preventative health measures.Assist with vaccination programs, including COVID-19, flu shots, and other workplace immunization initiatives.Support health promotion and wellness initiatives in the workplace.Ensure the occupational health clinic is fully stocked and properly maintained, including ordering necessary medical supplies.Liaise with employers, HR, and management regarding employees fitness for work assessments.Minimum RequirementsRegistered Enrolled Nurse (EN) with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).At least 1-2 years of nursing experience (occupational health experience is an advantage).Knowledge of occupational health principles, medical surveillance, and workplace safety requirements.Certification in First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) is an advantage.Strong administrative and organizational skills for record-keeping and reporting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Notes:the salary is market related however, OccuAid will view the candidates and make a final decision on the salary. We will have to provide pay slips. The annual pay rate is worked out on the minimum market related salary of R15000 per month although this is subject to change as the salary varies between R15000 – R18000 pm depending on experience.
