Salary: R30,000 – R40,000 per monthHire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled Construction Health and Safety Consultant to join our client’s team in Brackenfell. - Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) and other relevant safety regulations.
- Manage and oversee construction health and safety on high-risk or large-scale projects.
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
- Administer and enforce health and safety procedures, including incident reporting, safety audits, and corrective actions.
- Provide health and safety training and coaching to on-site workers, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols.
- Prepare and submit health and safety reports, ensuring effective communication of findings to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with various teams, including project managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Monitor construction site conditions, ensuring they meet safety and environmental requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Support the implementation of environmental and sustainability initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- SACPCMP Registration: Can.CHSM, CHSM, or Can.CHSA registration is required.
- Qualifications:
- A qualification relevant to SACPCMP registration (preferred diploma, bachelor’s degree, or higher in Construction Health and Safety, Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a closely related field).
- Recognized engineering qualifications with safety-related courses may also be considered.
- Advanced training in CHS management, incident investigation, risk assessment, auditing, or compliance management is a plus.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in the construction health and safety field, demonstrating progression in responsibilities and technical competence.
- Proven experience in managing CHS on large-scale, high-risk construction projects.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in the OHS Act and relevant regulations.
- Knowledge of contract administration and relevant legislation (e.g., Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Disease Act, Environment Conservation Act).
- Strong leadership, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to coordinate and liaise effectively with various stakeholders on health and safety matters.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Physical fitness to navigate construction sites and work at heights.
- Ability to work in outdoor and inclement weather conditions.
- Self-motivated, team player with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent health and physical fitness.
- Own reliable transport.
- Willingness to learn and work diligently from the ground up.
- Computer proficiency, particularly in MS Office.
- Fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
- Preference: Male candidates are preferred for this role.
