Job description: Job SummaryThe Business Analyst – Finance & Controlling is a leadership role focusing on Tongaat Hulett’s SAP ERP landscape and other approved operating systems for all Tongaat sites.The Business analyst’s primary objective is assisting business to implement technology solutions in a cost-effective manner by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders. The developing of solutions to business problems begins with defining, analyzing and documenting requirements.This position is responsible for leading the processes that deal with the design, planning, implementation, maintenance (health) and improvements to the Tongaat Hulett SAP landscape and other primary operating systems within the approved system architecture. The key focus area for this position will be the Finance & Controlling Area of the Tongaat Hulett SAP landscape.The scope of support will include the review and resolution of system issues as well as the ability to manage SAP projects and act as a direct liaison with business personnel, project teams and other members of the information systems organization to ensure that system requirements, deadlines and priorities are clearly defined and achieved.Data governance is a key element of this role. A single source of data is critical in ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements. Build analytics to detect fraud, and to ensure data integrity. Build analytics to support business strategies and provide insights for competitive advantage, to, amongst others, reduce costs, and to increase profitability.Qualifications, Competencies & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of SAP Configuration Experience
- Good knowledge of other SAP modules to understand the integration points with Finance & Controlling
- Requires strong communication skills to work internally with end user departments, management and peers. Develops and provides written and verbal presentations to end users, peers, and support personnel.
- Problem Solving and analytical skills: demonstrates superior diagnostic ability and proficiency in the use of specialized tools, techniques and procedures. Exhibits strong analytical ability and creativity in developing and integrating solution deliverables for medium size projects
- Strong team leadership skills able to provide leadership and direction to functional teams and other SAP Business Analyst.
- Willingness to expand knowledge and skills to new system technologies and solutions and to pilot within the test landscape
- Hands on full life cycle SAP system implementations experience
- Strategic thinking
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to function well in a team
- PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) including good documentation and analytical skills.
- Tertiary Qualification – At minimum, a recognised Financial Certification or Degree
- At least 5 years post qualification working experience
