Job description: The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has opportunities for suitably qualified individuals to coordinate and implement sport and recreation development and programmes.
Minimum RequirementsAn appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification). A valid code B (or higher) driving licenceNB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
RecommendationAppropriate experience in recreation programmes and exposure to setting-up of indigenous games structures; Experience in project management and event planning.
Key Performance AreasCoordinate and assist with the implementation of recreation development; Assist and coordinate the implementation of recreation programmes; Assist with the setting-up of indigenous games structures within local and district municipalities; Assist with the establishment of indigenous games league matches; Coordinate and implement compliance; People management.
CompetenciesKnowledge of the following: Mass participation; Public Finance Management Act. Basic Budget Processes, Basic Human Resource Management, National Sport, and Recreation Plan; Relevant recreation, sport, arts and cultural affairs policies, rules, and regulations; Recreation, MOD Programme, Neighbouring School Programme School Sport, and relevant next-level participation, through culture, arts, recreation, education and sports activities and programmes; Marketing events, programmes, and people; Event Planning, Event Management and Project Management;Skills needed: Written and verbal communication; Proven computer literacy; Project management; Information management; Must be able to read and understand statistical data.
RemunerationR 308 154 per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits (Salary Level 7)Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
