Job description: Job Summary About the role
The role of Stakeholder an Intern Social worker is to provide trauma-informed and culturally appropriate mental health
services that assist individuals and communities with their mental health needs. The role requires the incumbent to be
flexible enough to provide telephonic and face to face counselling, psychoeducation, containment, and school and
community support.Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and manage all counselling and trauma related programs geared toward learners, educators or community partners.
- Lead and conduct mental health training session and campaigns in schools and communities.
- Meaningfully and professionally engage with all stakeholders.
- Provide telephonic professional short-term counselling sessions, making use of a solution-focused methodology, in an attempt to contain the client.
- Ensure the implementation of trauma protocols and processes in each intervention and to adhere to the
operational requirements and standards. * Lead community awareness programs, dialogues, and advocacy for the inclusion of people suffering from mentalillness. * To accurately capture all information and evidence-based case notes on the database pertinent to the clinical management of counselling cases.
- To liaise with governmental, private sector, higher institutions of learning, non-governmental organizations and relevant stakeholders and partners.
- Enhance media and online presence and information dissemination by using the existing media/information platforms (website, social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, press releases, articles, video documentaries, etc.).
- Ensure that knowledge management and knowledge dissemination activities internally and externally are managed optimally.
Requirements
- South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have participated on the programme before.
- Be in possession of a Grade 12 / Senior Certificate or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on the National Learner Record Database (NLRD) on at least NQF 4.
- Applicants must be in possession of a relevant (4 Year BA Degree) in Social Work.
- Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions / SACSSP.
- Strong assertiveness skills

- Strong organizational, coordination and time-management skills
- Must be able to work in a multi-professional team.
- Must be able to work in a multi-dimensional environment.
