The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government, is seeking proactive and skilled individuals for the position of Operator: Road Marker. The chosen candidates will be responsible for outlining and spraying all road marks on proclaimed roads. Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualifications:
- Grade 10 certificate or equivalent.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Licensing:
- A valid code EC driving license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is required.
Recommendation
Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:
- Working with, handling, and maintaining the line marking machine and various other vehicles.
- Building, maintenance, and repair of roads.
- Willingness to work away from headquarters regularly and share caravans for accommodation while sleeping out.
Key Performance Areas
- Road Marking:
- Outline new or faded invisible road marks.
- Spray lines with the aid of road mark machines and aids.
- Inspection and Quality Control:
- Undertake pre-inspection of routes and post-surveying of completed lengths sprayed in terms of costing and quality assurance.
- Supervision:
- Supervise subordinates with hand painting of road marks and ad-hoc road maintenance activities.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure the safeguarding of work areas and construction machines as per the Health and Safety Act.

Remuneration
- Salary Level: 4
- Annual Salary: R183,279 per annum.
