Job description: My client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Tax Specialist to join its team on a 3 to 4-month contract. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of tax processes who is looking to build a career in the tax space.Key Responsibilities
The Junior Tax Specialist will play a key role in supporting the company’s tax team by:
- Preparing and reviewing tax computations for individuals, trusts, and companies.
- Liaising with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) to resolve client queries and issues.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Providing clients with professional tax advice to optimize tax efficiency and compliance.
- Preparing and filing income tax returns accurately and within deadlines.
- Assisting with tax audits and preparing relevant documentation.
The successful candidate will possess
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations (internship or academic exposure advantageous).
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and SARS.
- A proactive and organized approach to work.
