Thats it.Who were looking forA rare opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team.We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Junior Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This entry-level role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a wide range of key Finance activities within the asset management and fintech space, working alongside colleagues based in London and Dubai, and on a growing global group of Companies. You will be working with the Cape Town based Finance Team to partner with the business, supporting in important internal audit and other special projects as they arise, whilst managing your weekly and monthly responsibilities. As a growing team and business, there are pathways to gain high levels of responsibility and seniority for high performers.Your responsibilities will include working closely with the Financial Accountant on maintaining the Xero systems from Bank to General Ledger on multiple group entities, and ensuring all Finance processes and controls are followed in order to deliver timeous Management Accounts each month, including ensuring payments across multiple Banking platforms are executed accurately. You will also be mentored by the Head of Finance along your tailored growth path, as you build your career at pace within our mission-first organisation.The qualities an ideal candidate would have include:Excellent attention to detail, being passionate about ensuring the right answers are arrived at each time, and being able to articulate any issues as they arise, and then taking ownership on seeing their resolution through to completion once you have obtained buy-in from those involved.Analytical mindset with proven experience in wrangling data, problem-solving skills, and the ability to draw logical, well-reasoned conclusions. You are likely to be someone that cant rest without things being exact.Initiative and proactivity, with the ability to identify and report issues effectively.Growth mindset, constantly seeking out opportunities to grow and push your boundaries, both personally and professionally.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and keep people updated in a fast-paced environment.Tech literate, with confidence in adapting to new systems and tools.Familiarity with wealth management and global group structures is not essential (training will be provided), but a general understanding of our business is important. You are likely to quickly grasp basic commercial awareness, irrespective of industry type.What youll be doing· Wrangling large data sets to ensure accuracy and to detect any issues, with an internal audit focus. Then to categorize and summarise any issues, and take ownership for their resolution.· Reconciling incoming receipts and outgoing payments against internally generated deployment sheets, to ensure that Investor records remain 100% accurate and are aligned with the liquidity events that are taking place.· Regular reporting on and updating of different integrated systems for asset transfers, and liaising with external stakeholders & partners to facilitate completion of these.· Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.· Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to management on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial trends.· Support the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with various departments to gather and analyze financial information.· Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts on a regular basis.· Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements and audit schedules, as well as manage Aged Receivables and Payables.· Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations.· Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including creating manual journals for review.· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy, including via 360 degree feedback.Please note that this is a hybrid role for those based in Cape Town only, as 3 days a week will be in our Century City office.
