The overall responsibility of the Finance and Management Accountant position is to provide accurate and timely information to executive management, facilitating informed policy decisions, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the company’s ongoing and sound profitability.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- A Bcom/Bcompt degree and completed SAICA Articles.
- Proficiency with Oracle or a similar ERP System.
- At least 5 years of experience as an Accountant/Management Accountant.

- Expertise with Oracle or a similar ERP System.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Accountant/Management Accountant in a similar industry or role.
Responsibilities:
The Finance and Management Accountant will have a wide range of responsibilities focusing on financial reporting, governance, internal controls, and more. Below is a comprehensive breakdown of the core duties associated with this role:
Financial Reporting:
- Preparation and Submission: Accurate and timeous preparation and submission of monthly management accounts.
- Reconciliation: Reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Budget and Forecasts: Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts to aid strategic planning.
- Backup Processing: Providing backup for critical day-to-day financial processing tasks.
- Payroll Review: Reviewing weekly payroll for independent subcontractors to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Audit Preparation: Preparing documents and assisting with the external audit process.
- VAT and EMP201 Submissions: Monthly calculations and submission of VAT returns and EMP201 forms.
- Fixed Assets: Managing the control and processing of fixed assets.
- Cost Analysis: Conducting detailed cost analysis of variances to identify areas of financial performance improvement.
- Intercompany Balances: Ensuring intercompany balances are reconciled and in balance.
- Payment Approvals: Overseeing payment releases and other financial approvals.
- Cash Flow Projections: Preparing and submitting monthly cash flow projections to manage liquidity effectively.
Governance and Controls:
- External Audit Assistance: Assisting the Financial Manager with the external audit process.
- Legislative Compliance: Ensuring all legislative and statutory requirements are met, maintaining the company’s compliance with applicable laws.
- IFRS Compliance: Ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in daily financial functions.
- Internal Controls: Adhering to internal controls to minimize risk and prevent financial loss.
