Job description: Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant Cape Town CBDOur client is seeking a Bookkeeper/Junior Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting to manage financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the financial health of our organization.Salary R 25000 – R 35 000pm depending on experience and qualificationMin Qualifications and requirementsCertificate/Diploma in Bookkeeping/Accounting, Finance, or a related field – Added Bonus3-4 years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting (Depends on position)Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.Assist with small payroll of 17 peopleResponsibilitiesFinancial Record-Keeping Record daily financial transactions accurately in accounting software.Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are properly documented.Accounts Payable and Receivable Process invoices, payments, and receipts promptly.Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balance and assist in following up on outstanding client payments.Bank Reconciliations Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.Expense Tracking Monitor and categorize expenses to ensure proper budget allocation.Assist in preparing expense reports for management review.Tax Compliance Prepare and file VAT returns and other tax submissions in compliance with regulations.Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.Small Payroll (17 permanent staff) process employee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.Maintain records of employee hours, benefits, and deductions.Prepare payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.Apply OnlineFrogg Recruitment
