Job description: Job Summary Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Steel Buyer to join their team in the steel retail industry in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and a good understanding of the steel market.Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase a variety of steel products based on company needs and budget requirements.
- Establish relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing and terms of agreements.
- Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure competitive advantage.
- Coordinate with internal departments to determine steel requirements and order quantities.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback for improvement.
- Develop and maintain a database of suppliers and their product offerings.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, in the steel industry.
- Knowledge of steel products, grades, and specifications.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other procurement software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
