Our state-of-the-art machine shop plays a crucial role in our operations, and we are looking for a skilled and experienced Machine Shop Manager to lead our team.Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Machine Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our machine shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming using CAD/CAM software, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. The Machine Shop Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the machine shop, maintaining high standards of quality, and meeting production targets.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Supervision:Manage and lead a team.Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to the machine shop team.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.CNC Programming and Operations:Develop and implement CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines, including lathes, mills, etc.Ensure all CNC machines are maintained and calibrated for optimal performance.Production Management:Plan, schedule, and oversee all machining operations to meet production deadlines.Monitor workflow and adjust resources as needed to optimize efficiency.Coordinate with other departments (e.g., engineering, quality control) to ensure seamless production processes.Quality Assurance:Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed specifications.Conduct inspections and tests on machined parts to verify accuracy and quality.Address and resolve any quality issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.Process Improvement:Continuously evaluate and improve machining processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste.Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.Recommend and implement new tools, equipment, and methods to improve shop efficiency.Safety and Compliance:Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).Minimum of 5 years of experience in a machine shop environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.Proficiency in CNC programming using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and equipment.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.Equal Opportunity Employer: We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.Job Type: Full-timePay: R500 000 – R700 000 per yearEducation:Diploma (Preferred)
