PermanentKontak is assisting a client to recruit, hire and employ a Group Visual Merchansider for homeware. A leading retail furniture manufacturer seeks a visionary Group Visual Merchandiser to drive creative direction for its homeware division. This role calls for a self-starter to conceptualize bold ideas, design captivating layouts, and implement them across retail spaces, enhancing the client experience and boosting sales.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in visual merchandising, turning brand identity into compelling displays. Working hands-on with a skilled team, they will refine concepts, oversee installations, and drive creative excellence to elevate processes and tackle challenges with innovative solutionsMinimum Requirements:
An Interior Décor or Design Diploma (an Interior Design diploma is particularly advantageous)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar roles such as Visual Merchandising Manager, Senior Visual Merchandiser, or Creative Manager
Excellent technical knowledge of design software, e.g., SketchUp
Valid drivers license with reliable own transport; willingness to travel nationally
Passion for retail and consumer trends, with the ability to conceptualize installations in line with the brand identity
Strong creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and conceptual ability
Ability to interpret briefs and communicate directives effectively to in-store Visual Merchandisers
Good knowledge of merchandising policies and procedures within a retail environment
Strong administrative skills and excellent product knowledge of homeware and décorDuties and Responsibilities:
Take creative direction, taking initiative to conceptualize, design, and implement layouts and displays for carpets, shelves, linens, bathrooms, outdoor spaces, lighting, and kitchen areas
Develop creative ideas, designs, and executions independently, ensuring alignment with the brand vision
Oversee costing, production, and installation of homeware displays, including signage implementation
Prepare and present SketchUp models for installation approval
Provide insights on shop fittings and new store concepts, using research and data
Collaborate with the Project Manager to manage budgets for installations
Facilitate workshops with in-store Visual Merchandisers to refine concepts
Communicate rollout plans for installations to in-store Visual Merchandisers and Regional Managers
Deliver monthly feedback on homeware integration through video conferencing, photos, or in-store visits
Compile and manage the annual Homeware Lookbook and guidelines
Travel across South Africa to all retail stores during revamp periods or as required
Develop efficient processes aligned with business strategies and objectives
