Purpose of the Position
The Cash Forecasting and Planner role is pivotal to ensuring that our cash demand forecasts and replenishment plans are both realistic and effective. The ultimate goal is to optimize the planning of our EasyPay cash inventory, ensuring cost-efficiency and robust risk management. You will be accountable for controlling cash supply chain activities and will play a key role in delivering exceptional service while managing costs and risk to an acceptable level.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Cash Supply Chain Monitoring and Analysis
- Planning and Management: Assist with planning and managing cash holding levels and inventories.
- Forecasting: Develop and maintain comprehensive supply and demand forecasts to support the cash planning team.
- Funding Requirements and Estimation: Analyze and estimate funding requirements, average cash use, and maximum holdings.
- Peak/Off-Peak Analysis: Evaluate cash requirements during peak and off-peak periods, forecasting future cash needs accordingly.
- Denomination Analysis: Conduct analyses of center-level cash holdings by denomination to minimize cash inventory.
- Risk Monitoring: Monitor and manage overnight risk limits and assess values, ensuring these stay within predetermined levels.
Management Reporting
- Preparation of Reports: Prepare and interpret daily, weekly, and monthly management information systems (MIS) and reports for decision-makers.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Provide support for ad-hoc requests and data analyses.
- Management Insights: Conduct trend analyses and offer insights for cash utilization and ATM activity at both national and regional levels.
- ATM Transactional Oversight: Maintain an up-to-date list of live transactional ATMs to support operational efficiency.
Cost Management and Control
- Financial Target Support: Collaborate with the ATM channel to achieve financial targets.
- Operational Improvements: Design and implement methods to improve operations and minimize costs.
- Plan Execution Monitoring: Oversee the execution of the monthly cash-in-transit (CIT) plan to ensure compliance with operational and budgetary standards.
- Profitability Optimization: Assist with scenario planning to maximize profitability.
- Long-Term Analysis: Conduct medium and long-term analysis of cash demand and utilization, as well as CIT activities.
- Funding Optimization: Determine optimal funding sourcing to reduce wholesale CIT activity and maintain minimal running cash inventory.
- Verification: Weekly and monthly verification of retail and wholesale CIT activities to validate adherence to the monthly plan.
- Service Confirmation: Confirm services rendered to maintain accountability.
- Budgeting: Contribute to the annual budget process and track actual performance against budgets.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) and a tertiary qualification in finance or data analysis are required.
- Experience: At least 1+ years of experience in cash and ATMs, with specific experience in cash planning and reconciliation.
- Customer Service: Proven experience in resolving customer queries.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced-level Excel skills.
- Other Requirements: A valid driver’s license, a clear criminal and credit record, and the ability to be contacted via your own mobile phone.
Compensation and Location
- Expected Salary: R120,000 – R144,000 per year.
