Education
- Secondary Education: Grade 12
- Tertiary Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field.
Experience
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
Competencies:
Knowledge
- Sound understanding of drawings.
- Fundamentals of fault finding and equipment testing.
- Sound knowledge of H&S and safe working procedures.
- Technical knowledge of processes, including equipment, raw materials, molds, downstream equipment, and run-in department.
- Relevant quality system and certification as required.
Job Responsibilities:
Technical Support
- Manage technical tasks; assist engineers and maintenance with research, design, and development.
- Gather data and perform basic analysis to support production and engineering. Identify trends, issues, or areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Solve technical and process-related issues in engineering projects.
- Contribute to designing and developing new products, systems, or technologies.
- Conduct tests and experiments to validate process designs or modifications.
Process Improvement
- Identify areas for improvement in engineering processes and propose solutions.
- Assist in implementing new systems or software to enhance productivity.
- Maintain detailed records of work processes, changes, and outcomes.
Administrative Support
- Coordinate and manage the GM’s schedule, including meetings, appointments, and travel.
- Draft and manage communication on behalf of the GM.
- Prepare agendas, presentations, and materials for meetings.
- Attend meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Organize and maintain engineering records, including project files and diagrams.
Project Coordination
- Monitor project progress and keep projects on schedule.
- Coordinate resources such as equipment, tools, and materials for projects.
- Serve as the liaison between the engineering/maintenance team and other departments or external stakeholders.
Inventory and Resource Management
- Monitor and manage the inventory of technical supplies and equipment for projects.
- Order and purchase necessary equipment and materials.
Health and Safety
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the area of responsibility.
- Work safely and report safety hazards or issues.
- Report accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Quality
- Apply the companys quality principles and standards.
- Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Food Safety System Certification (FSSC)
- Apply site-specific food safety principles and standards.
- Report food safety hazards or issues to your Supervisor/Manager.
- Comply with and maintain all GMPs in relation to the Companys FSMS.
Self-development and Growth
- Assess strengths and development areas; take actions to address weaknesses.
- Stay informed about innovations and technical improvements.
- Foster teamwork and cooperation.
- Practice self-management.
- Develop leadership and interpersonal relationships.
