Job Description
Are you a proficient Turner Machinist with an eye for detail and a zest for precision machining and engineering excellence? Dennes Engineering PTY Ltd. is in search of an enthusiastic and experienced Artisan to enhance our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should be adept at turning, milling, welding, fabricating, fitting, and manufacturing, as well as assembling an array of mechanical components.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining meticulous records of all your work, managing mechanical breakdowns, and undertaking manufacturing tasks according to either given samples or technical drawings. The ability to work collaboratively with fellow artisans on various projects is a significant asset.
To succeed in this position, you should be detail-oriented and proficient in interpreting engineering drawings. The right candidate will demonstrate outstanding analytical skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, and a commitment to organization. Mastery in the safe use of hand tools, milling machines, and lathes is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings for mechanical systems to determine the precise specifications of components to be manufactured.
- Manufacture components starting from raw materials.
- Design jigs and templates to assist in the fabrication process.
- Accurately measure and mark metal stock for machining operations.
- Set up and manipulate machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
- Smooth metal surfaces through filing, grinding, and shimming to ensure a fine finish.
- Conduct regular maintenance on company equipment.
- Operate welding equipment to join structural components seamlessly.
- Conduct inspections of components to validate their size and conformity.
- Follow company systems and standard operating procedures meticulously.
- Log working hours accurately on job cards.
- Be prepared to work overtime when necessary.
- Comply with all established site safety rules and regulations.
Fitter Requirements
- Completion of a trade test or possession of a relevant Diploma.
- A minimum of three years of proven experience as a qualified Artisan.
- Experience in roles specialized in Tool and Die Making.
- Extensive hands-on experience with essential metalworking tools including drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes.
- Solid foundation in engineering principles.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and mechanical components schematics.
- Ability to maintain focus and concentration over extended periods.
- Strong analytical thinking and effective problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication skills, paired with excellent time-management and organizational abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and advanced troubleshooting competencies.
- Exceptional mechanical aptitude and proficient welding skills.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
Qualifications
- N3/Trade Test Certificate, preferably a Red Seal Certification.
