- Qualified Millwright with post Trade experience of 3+ years in high-speed packaging, assembly, printing, and manufacturing machines or similar.
- Formal PLC training – must be able to understand, read, diagnose, and program PLC’s (Preferably OMRON)
- PLC experience is a must.
- Computer literate – Microsoft Office, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Must develop the skills for setting up all Assembly Machines (Mechanical and Electrical) according to required set standards.
- Quality Assurance: Will consider quality as a key component of all work that is done and production that are manufactured on the machines/equipment under his care, will have a thorough knowledge of the product and its components, will continually seek the standards required for all products and will advise the QA Department of any non-conformance of the product and/or its components.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment will be advantages.
- Strong faultfinding and analyzing skills are a must.
- Medically fit for long working hours and must be able to work under pressure.
- Able to work in a team environment as well as individually.
Machine maintenance:
- Will do running and preventative maintenance according to a planned maintenance program, liaise with foreman to ensure that all machines are mechanically and electrically sound, adequately lubricated, and that all required spares are available, and stock replenished.
- Will ensure that the necessary schedules are completed no later than the end of the shift.
- Will conform to the requirements of handover procedures.
Production:
- Must be aware of the outputs of various machines and equipment, to achieve the highest possible output figures. Will strive to maintain optimum settings, will report any problems related to the non-performance of machines/equipment and/or both to the foreman.
- Will assist with operator and production supervisor training on Assembly machines and inform them about any standard procedural changes.
- Will ensure that all planned machines are running at the end of their shift.
- Assembling, installing, and testing machinery/equipment for correct operation.
- Must work in full compliance with the approved safety procedures and regulations.
- Identifying problematic parts of the machine by applying analytical faultfinding, repairing problematic parts of machine by making temporary repairs, making new parts, or installing new parts.
- Dismantling old machinery.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to correct potential issues.
- Use manually operated lifting and moving equipment to move heavy parts.
Over time: Approximately 3 – 10 hours per week, paid at 1.5H overtime, Public Holidays & Sundays Double time (Maybe twice a month) Standby allowance & callout allowance payable and will depend on salary.Shifts: 7am – 4pm, 4pm – 11pm and 11pm – 7am. – (7 Day Cycle Monday – Friday (Overtime over weekends) & Standby Allowance 1 per month (8%)Leave: 15 Days per annu
Expected salary: R500000 per year
