Job description: Job Summary The ideal candidate will reside in Cape Town and be a qualified Diesel Mechanic with at least 5 years experience. Our client would prefer someone who has worked on Volvo and Scania busses, as this is what the fleet is made up of.Outline of responsibilities:
- Ensure regular inspection of vehicles – fleet consists of 350 busses.
- Coordinate the maintenance activities associated with the fleet
- Monitor work in progress and the completion of specialised service tasks
- Monitor activities associated with the mechanical maintenenance and repair of all passenger, light and heavy commercial vehicles
- Fault diagnoses, root cause analysis, monitoring the work quality and performance outputs
- Attending to routine investigations and general admin recording requirements contributing to the accomplishment of the City’s objectives
- Check ISO compliance
- Check incident and accident history
- Follow up on claims and defects
- Monitoring fleet use, misuse and abuse
- Accident investigations and insurance claims
