Job description: Hire Resolve’s client in the manufacturing industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Buyer in Midrand, Gauteng.Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase raw materials, components, and equipment.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure materials are available as per production schedules.
- Ensure that all purchased materials meet required industry standards, specifications, and compliance regulations.
- Stay updated on market trends, material availability, and potential risks affecting the supply chain.
- Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Track spending, analyse cost-saving opportunities, and prepare reports for management.
- Monitor supplier performance based on delivery timelines, quality, and service levels.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in procurement, preferably in electrical manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of electrical components and manufacturing processes.
