We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced education professional for the position of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator to join our esteemed Education Faculty. Qualifications and Experience:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in education, ideally with a focus on early childhood education or Foundation Phase education. Possession of a master’s degree will be considered advantageous.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in educational coordination, particularly in work-integrated learning or student placements.
- Thorough understanding and comprehensive knowledge of the South African education system, with an emphasis on Grade R teaching.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and managing partnerships with educational institutions and schools.
Key Responsibilities:
As a WIL Coordinator, you will be responsible for a range of tasks aimed at optimizing the learning experiences of students. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing effective strategies for student placements in Grade R classrooms across the country.
- Establishing and maintaining fruitful partnerships with primary schools to secure a diverse range of placement opportunities.
- Overseeing and managing all logistics related to Work Integrated Learning placements, including setting timelines, student allocations, and conducting site monitoring to ensure a smooth operation.
- Providing comprehensive orientation, mentoring, and ongoing support to students throughout their placements, enhancing their developmental experience.
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor student progress, address any arising issues, and ensure the quality of the learning environment.
- Collaborating closely with academic staff to seamlessly integrate Work Integrated Learning into the curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current educational guidelines.
- Ensuring all student placements comply with South African educational regulations and preparing detailed reports on student placements and their outcomes.
- Engaging actively with stakeholders such as school principals, teachers, and educational authorities to sustain and expand existing Work Integrated Learning partnerships.
- Implementing rigorous quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of practical training.
- Handling all administrative duties related to WIL placements, including thorough documentation and reporting.
