A leading holding company in South Africa’s education sector is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will ensure that financial entries are accurately processed and that the General Ledger provides an accurate record of the company’s financial status.As the Junior Accountant you will responsible for the following:
- Debtors Management: Reconcile debtor ledgers, process revenue recognition journals, review enrolment fees, and calculate bad debt provisions.
- Creditors Management: Coordinate the accounts payable process, reconcile creditor accounts, ensure goods and services are properly recorded, and manage procurement card reconciliations.
- Purchasing: Validate vendor creation requests and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
- Payroll: Prepare salary journals, verify deductions, and maintain payroll control accounts.
- General Ledger: Perform bank reconciliations, process intercompany journals, and manage fixed asset records.
- Insurance & Claims: Handle insurance claims and ensure proper disposal of stolen assets.
- Reporting: Compile monthly management reports and assist with the Falcon reporting pack.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Completed Bcom in Finance
Completed SAIPA articles
Minimum 1-2 years’ post experience
Excellent attention to detail
