Job description: Grade 12 English Teacher – RandburgFull job descriptionJob purposeRadley Private School is looking for a caring FET qualified educator who is genuinely enthusiastic about teaching learners. The teacher is responsible for preparing all lessons, teaching to foster a purposeful progression in learning, evaluating and reporting on learner academic progress, as well as comprehensive record keeping, updating databases and statistical analysis as required by the Department of Education and all other legislation. We are hoping for our new teacher to start immediately. Key responsibilitiesEngaging in class teaching to foster a purposeful progression in learning.Employ all reasonable strategies to improve learner results to agreed outcomes every term.Preparing all lessons considering orientation, regional courses, new approaches, techniques, evaluation, technology, etc. within the teacher’s field/subject.Planning, coordinating, controlling, administering, evaluating and reporting on learner academic progress.Providing extra lessons where learning needs are identified.Assisting the Principal in overseeing learner counselling and guidance, careers, discipline and general welfare of our learners.Ensuring that accurate and up-to-date learner attendance and assessment results are captured within the prescribed deadlines.Maintaining the SBA programme of assessment.The teacher is responsible for comprehensive record keeping, updating databases and statistical analysis as required by the Department of Education and all other legislation.Moderation of test and examination papers as well as memoranda (internal and external) where required from time-to-time.Performing or assisting with various non-teaching administrative duties, such as fire drills and first aid. Skills, competencies & minimum criteriaMust be F.E.T qualified.An appropriate and recognised four-year teaching degree/diploma from an accredited tertiary institution.SACE registration vital, IEB Grade 12 experience advantageous.Compliance with all legislative fit and proper status requirements for a teacher as determined by legislation.A minimum of three years’ experience in teaching.Familiar with the content of the CAPS curriculum for applicable teaching subjects.Be familiar with modern teaching practices including personalised learning, flipped classroom techniques, differentiated learning, the use of computer technology for research and effective use of group work teaching strategies.A real interest in, and passion for entrepreneurship is critical. Experience in own entrepreneurial endeavours is highly advantageous.Excellent written and spoken communication English language ability.Computer literacy: must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Own reliable transport with valid driver’s license an advantage. Radley Private School may at its discretion require the employee from time to time to perform duties which are incidental to the position into which the employee is appointed.
Expected salary: R480000 per year
