A Civil Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, and water systems. They apply engineering principles to ensure safety, efficiency, and sustainability throughout the lifecycle of these projects.Responsibilities:
- Project Design and Management: Lead the design, development, and implementation of civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with standards, codes, and regulations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior engineers, technologists, and other project staff to ensure effective teamwork and high-quality output.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, present designs, and provide updates on progress.
- Budget and Schedule Management: Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular site visits to monitor the progress of construction, ensuring work is carried out according to design specifications and safety standards.
- Quality Control: Ensure the highest quality standards are maintained during design, construction, and completion of projects.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure the safety and environmental impact of the project is minimized.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, budgets, and technical reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, urban planners, and other engineering disciplines to integrate civil systems into larger projects.
Requirements:
- Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on design, construction, and project management. We are also looking for a Civil Engineer/Technologist with at least 5 years of experience in civil infrastructure/township services.
- Certifications: Pr.Eng or Pr. Tech certification.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD, etc.), strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Project Management: Experience managing large-scale projects, budgets, timelines, and teams.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
