Job description: Job SummaryPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Retail Draughtsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed designs and construction drawings using Autodesk Revit. Collaborating with senior team members and other stakeholders, you will ensure floor plans meet both technical and customer requirements while adhering to deadlines and all relevant legislation. This role involves managing franchisee and customer expectations, resolving design challenges, and coordinating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality store layouts for new store buildouts and revamps of existing stores.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Drafting:
- Measure retail spaces to create accurate floor plans.
- Design and plan retail store layouts and shopfitting elements.
- Prepare full construction documentation packs.
- Adjust plans to meet unanticipated needs or challenges.
Stakeholder/Key Player Collaboration:
- Work directly with architects and landlords to align designs with mall criteria.
- Issue plans to all relevant contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Communicate with franchisees, corporate stores, and stakeholders via email, phone, and WhatsApp.
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with all stakeholders.
Project Management:
- Track and meet project deadlines and targets.
- Identify and address customer queries by clarifying requests and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to gather necessary information.
- Keep records of customer interactions, transactions, and feedback.
- Visiting and inspecting sites as and when necessary.
Compliance and Submissions:
- Compile and prepare council submission packs, including plans and landlord letters.
- Submit plans to local councils and ensure that relevant approvals for fire, safety, and signage compliance are obtained.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background:
- Draughtsman qualification.
- Revit Advanced Certificate.
- Matric certificate.
- Technical Expertise/Experience/Background:
- Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is an absolute must.
- Sound knowledge of construction and shopfitting drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans.
- Additional Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and Projects).
- Effective communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Willingness to travel when required.
