This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and equipment necessary for our projects.Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize expertise in civil engineering materials to assess quality and suitability for various projects.
- Review and verify requisitions for accuracy, ensuring that all requests are justified and aligned with project needs.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify the best prices for materials and equipment.
- Obtain necessary approvals from relevant managers before finalizing purchases.
- Execute purchase orders for materials, stock, and rental equipment, ensuring timely procurement to meet project timelines.
- Facilitate effective communication between suppliers, project managers, and internal teams to manage delivery schedules and resolve any issues.
- Collaborate with the storeman to monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and ensure that materials are available when needed.
Minimum requirements:
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Procurement Clerk or Buyer in the civil engineering or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering materials, products, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- A relevant degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Expected salary: R25000 per month
