Job description: Our client who manufactures trailers based in Klipriver, Gauteng is looking for a Design Draughtsman to join their team.Requirements:
- Experience: 5 to 15 years. (Dependent on required position, i.e., entry level to senior)
- Qualifications: Relevant draughting qualification advantageous.
- Professional Registrations: Not required.
- Software: Microsoft Office (proficient in excel, word, outlook), Nesting Software (any but not critical), any 3D design package (AutoCAD and Inventor preferred).
- Proficient in English (Crucial) and Afrikaans (Ideal)
- Notice period: Not more than 1 month.
Responsibilities:
- Reports to engineering/drawing office manager.
- Product development and design.
- Take on complete projects from start to finish including special projects.
- Load distributions and general arrangement drawings.
- Assist in implementing drawing standards/processes/documentation etc.
- Maintain products/databases/standards/administration etc.
- Assist production and repair departments as needed.
- Create nestings for plasma.
- Assist with day-to-day requirements.
- Data capturing and filing.
- Bills of materials.
- Proper planning and time management. The successful candidate will be expected to function successfully on their own and must be a quick learner.
- Maintain good interdepartmental communications and relations.
Qualities/Skills:
- Excellent communication, numeracy, and computer literacy skills.
- Identifying problems and implement preventative strategies to minimise risk.
- Being able to develop good working relationships and trust with co-workers.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytic ability and be very detail oriented.
- Working well with many different departments and external suppliers.
- Always keeping the end-user/customer in mind.
- Being results and deadline driven.
- Proficient in MS Office and CAD software.
